Daniel Agger relishing Merseyside derby

Daniel Agger says that Liverpool and Everton head into this Saturday's Merseyside derby on an even keel.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has said that he is unsure who the favourites will be heading into this weekend's Merseyside derby with Everton.

The two teams go head to head at Goodison Park on Saturday, and the Danish international expects the Toffees to present a stern challenge.

"It's about three points and they are the ones for us hopefully", the 28-year-old told Bold.dk. "It is always tough and intense fighting, but that's that.

"They've had a really good start. There is a new manager and a slightly different style of play. They have a solid team and they have had that for many years, but they are off to a good start.

"It is hard to say [who the favourites are]. We have to go through a little more of the season. Once we have played all the teams it will perhaps be a little easier to say."

The Reds, in second place, are three points ahead of their old rivals.
