John Aldridge: 'Brendan Rodgers has had stick, but he deserves credit'

John Aldridge believes that Brendan Rodgers "deserves credit" for adapting his tactics following Saturday's win over Stoke City.

John Aldridge believes that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers "deserves credit" for adapting his philosophy in order to get the Reds winning again.

The Merseyside outfit, who were known for their free-flowing attacking football last season, were forced to grind out a 1-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

Prior to the victory at Anfield, Rodgers and his players faced plenty of criticism following a five-game winless run in all competitions.

Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column: "The manager has come in for a plenty of stick recently but he deserves credit for what he has done to try and turn Liverpool's form around. He has shown that he is not set in his ways, so to speak.

"Liverpool have had stubborn managers in the past but Brendan proved that he can move away from his principles and I salute him for that."

Tonight, the Reds will take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
