Rafael Benitez wants Liverpool return?

Napoli coach Rafael Benitez reportedly has designs on a return to Liverpool.

Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has reportedly set his sights on a return as Liverpool manager.

The former Reds boss took charge of the Anfield side from 2004 to 2010 and won the Champions League and the FA Cup during his time at the club.

The London Evening Standard reports that Napoli are keen to tie Benitez down to a long-term contract, but the Spaniard would prefer a one-year deal due to having designs on a comeback to Liverpool later in his career.

Benitez is believed to have kept property in the Merseyside area, despite leaving the Reds at the end of the 2009-10 campaign after guiding them to seventh in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers's men are currently fifth in the table, seven points adrift of the final Champions League place.
