Dejan Lovren: 'Too early for Liverpool title talk'

Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren suggests that it is too early to talk about the club as title challengers despite their 2-1 win away at Chelsea in the Premier League.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has claimed that it is too early to talk about the Reds as title challengers following the club's 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Friday evening.

Lovren was on the scoresheet as Jurgen Klopp's men produced a standout performance away from home to beat Antonio Conte's charges, but the centre-back has since been quick to state that his side should not be looking too far ahead.

"It's too early to talk about [mounting a title challenge] but we are positive and we can keep playing well," said Lovren after the game.

"We have so many players here on the bench that can make a difference, we have a brilliant squad, the 25 players here, even those in the stand are top players.

"It's a challenge for all of us to be 100 per cent in training and that's what keeps us improving every day."

Liverpool currently hold fourth spot in the league standings after four games played.
