Steven Gerrard: 'Brendan Rodgers is one of the best managers'

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says that Brendan Rodgers is one of the best managers he has ever worked with.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes that Brendan Rodgers is one of the finest managers that he has ever worked with.

Rodgers has led the Reds to second place in the Premier League this season, and his side are four points off leaders Chelsea with a game in hand.

The England skipper, who has been converted to a deep-lying midfielder under the Northern Irishman this term, has talked up the managerial ability of his boss.

Sky Sports News quotes Gerrard as saying: "He manages every single player. He knows we have different characters in the dressing room.

"His one-on-one management is the best I have known. He makes you go out on to the pitch feeling a million dollars, full of confidence and belief.

"When you play for Liverpool you have to accept pressure, take it on the chin and perform, but when you have a manager who is making you feel good and who is not scared of giving you a good one-to-one telling off as well he has the perfect ingredients."

Gerrard recently urged the club's owners to tie his manager down to a new long-term contract at Anfield.
