Jurgen Klopp: 'Liverpool squad strongest I have worked with'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp describes his current squad as the strongest that he has worked with during his time in management.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his current crop of Liverpool players is the best that he has worked with during his time in management.

The Reds boss, who lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last month in a £142m transfer, saw his side thrash Porto 5-0 in their most recent outing.

Liverpool got the job done in an emphatic manner, effectively rendering next month's last-16 second leg a dead rubber, with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane once again catching the eye.

However, Klopp insists that it is the calibre of those who did not make the squad - such as Dominic Solanke, Ragnar Klavan and Ben Woodburn - that highlights just how much quality his side now boast.

"It's really hard in the moment to make the squad," he told the club's official website. "Wow, I've never had a situation like that with the quality of the players not being in the squad. They all have made really big steps.

"Dominic Solanke was not in the squad but is in outstanding shape at the moment. Ragnar Klavan, unbelievable. Ben Woodburn makes steps and is really close to everything. It's difficult, it's getting more and more difficult, but that's good for us of course."

Klopp is the first Liverpool manager to register an away win by five goals or more on five separate occasions.
