Jurgen Klopp to Liverpool odds slashed

The odds are slashed on outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp taking over at Liverpool as questions are raised over the future of Brendan Rodgers.

Anfield is seemingly emerging as a possible destination for Jurgen Klopp after the odds were slashed on the outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager taking over at Liverpool.

Klopp announced earlier this month that he would be leaving the German club in the summer after a seven-year tenure in which he led them to two Bundesliga titles.

He is widely expected to next take on a Premier League challenge and Manchester City are being tipped to pursue the 47-year-old as they consider Manuel Pellegrini's position.

However, the future of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has also been questioned recently, with the Reds having fallen off the Champions League pace and been knocked out by Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Bookmaker BoyleSports are reporting that the odds on Liverpool being Klopp's next club have been cut from 6/1 to 11/4 in the past 24 hours following a host of bets which are showing little sign of drying up.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has insisted that Rodgers, who so nearly oversaw the Merseysiders' first domestic title victory in 25 years last season, is the right man to take the club forward.
