Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly contacted by Adrien Rabiot's camp to discuss the possibility of signing the midfielder on a free transfer.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been contacted by Adrien Rabiot's camp to discuss the possibility of signing the midfielder on a free transfer.

Rabiot left Juventus on a free transfer at the end of June, and he has still not joined a new club, which cost him the chance to be involved in the latest France squad.

There is believed to be Saudi Arabian and Turkish interest in the Frenchman, but it is understood that he is still holding out for a move to one of Europe's top five leagues.

According to TBR Football, Arsenal and Spurs have both been contacted by Rabiot's representatives to discuss bringing him to the Premier League.

The report claims that Rabiot wants around £220,000 a week, which has put off a number of clubs, including those from England's top flight.

Arsenal, Tottenham 'offered' chance to sign Rabiot

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have allegedly put offers on the table, while a number of clubs from Saudi Arabia are said to be willing to pay him a large salary.

AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Monaco are also among the teams said to be keen, although there is not thought to have been a concrete offer from any of the three clubs.

The fact that Rabiot is still a free agent is a surprise, even taking into consideration his substantial wage demands.

The midfielder was again an important player for Juventus last season, making 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering three assists in the process.

Would Rabiot be a good signing for Arsenal, Tottenham?

Rabiot has 452 career appearances to his name, scoring 47 goals and registering 32 assists in the process, while he has earned 48 caps for France.

As a free agent, there are few better currently on the market, but his wage demands are excessive, especially during a period where clubs are under even more financial pressure.

If a deal can be agreed, though, Rabiot could be a game-changing signing for a Premier League club considering his unique skill set.

Rabiot is a powerful central midfielder with excellent ability on the ball, and he is also a serial winner, lifting 18 trophies during his time at PSG and a further four at Juventus.

The midfielder also helped France win the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League and finish as runners-up at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
