Liverpool have announced that they are to hold a press conference on Friday morning where they are widely expected to reveal Jurgen Klopp as their new manager.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund boss is due to arrive in Britain this evening before terms can officially be agreed.
Widespread reports suggest that Klopp, who spent seven years at the Westfalenstadion before stepping down in May, will pen a three-year deal at Anfield.
Liverpool have been on the search for a new manager since parting company with Brendan Rodgers last weekend following a slow start to the campaign.
The Reds have picked up just 12 points from a possible 24 so far this season, which has left them down in 10th place heading into the international break.
Meanwhile, Gary McAllister - a prominent member of Rodgers's backroom staff - is thought to have been offered a different coaching role within the club.
