Alan Pardew out for revenge against Liverpool

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is keen to avoid defeat against Liverpool this weekend following their 6-0 demolition at the hands of the Reds last season.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is out for revenge against Liverpool this weekend following last season's 6-0 thrashing at the hands of the Reds.

The Magpies boss said that he is keen to avoid a repeat of one of the "worst days" of his managerial career at St James' Park this Saturday.

"It was one of my worst days as Newcastle boss, for sure. It's happened to bigger and better managers than me though - Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, they've had those days, too," The Mirror quotes him as saying.

"If there isn't an extra bit of fire in the bellies of some of our players this weekend, then there'll be something wrong.

"There'll be quite a few players playing who played on that day, and I'd be disappointed if they don't respond. That's what you like to see."

Newcastle head into the game without captain and centre-back Fabricio Coloccini, who is out with a groin strain.
