Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos takes a swipe at Jurgen Klopp's record in finals after criticism from the Liverpool boss regarding a challenge on Mohamed Salah.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has criticised Jurgen Klopp's record in finals in response to comments made by the Liverpool boss after the Champions League final.

Mohamed Salah was forced off with a shoulder injury following a challenge from Ramos, and Real went on to prevail by a 3-1 scoreline in Kiev.

Klopp was unhappy with the tackle, claiming that Ramos had been "brutal" and "ruthless", and the 32-year-old has taken his opportunity to respond to the German.

Ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final with Atletico Madrid, the Spaniard hold reporters: "It's not the first final he's lost, [maybe] he wants to use that as an excuse for losing.

"Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years, not sure he can say the same."

The injury to Salah led to the Egypt winger struggling for fitness ahead of and during the World Cup.
