Brendan Rodgers: 'Mario Balotelli will hit form sooner rather than later'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that it is "only a a matter of time" before Mario Balotelli starts scoring goals regularly.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that it is "only a a matter of time" before Mario Balotelli starts finding the net on a regular basis.

The Italian striker has scored just once in nine appearances for the Reds since he joined the club for £16m from AC Milan in the summer.

Despite missing a couple of simple chances during Sunday's win at Queens Park Rangers, Rodgers expects Balotelli to hit form sooner rather than later.

"Mario Balotelli was disappointed after the weekend, but the point I highlighted was that he was in the position to miss," he told reporters. "It's only a matter of time before he gets his goals."

Liverpool are back in action on Wednesday night when they entertain defending champions Real Madrid in the Champions League.
