Brendan Rodgers confirms return for trio

Liverpool manager confirms that Joe Allen, Aly Cissokho and Glen Johnson are all in contention for Saturday's trip to Newcastle following their returns from injury.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed a triple injury boost ahead of the visit to Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Reds boss said that he has his "strongest squad" available to him for the trip, after he gave the news that Joe Allen, Aly Cissokho and Glen Johnson are all ready to be considered for the game.

"Glen Johnson will be back, Joe Allen will be back [and] Cissokho will be back," he told reporters.

"Lucas will come back into the squad. He's another player who has shown his worth and he's got himself back into the Brazil squad.

"As I said, this will be the strongest available squad we've had this season."

A recent report also claimed that Philippe Coutinho will be back for the game.
