Brendan Rodgers looks to Liverpool's home advantage against Everton

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his side's strong record at Anfield will give them the edge in tonight's Merseyside derby.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he wants to guide the Reds to their 10th home win at Anfield this season when they take on Everton this evening.

Tonight's Merseyside derby could prove to be a crucial fixture this season as both clubs are in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

The Reds currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League table, while their local rivals sit one point adrift of them in sixth place.

"It would be a big psychological boost, because it means they have then got to have a couple of results better than us," Rodgers told the club's official website. "As the games tick away, that can be difficult to attain.

"It's going to be a tough game - two teams that have been up there. We've been in that top four more or less all of the season. We aim to stay there and, in order to do that, you've got to win as many of your home games as possible.

"This year, we have been brilliant. We've won nine out of the 11, only losing one and drawing one. We aim to make that 10 tonight."

The two sides played out a 3-3 draw at Goodison Park in November.
