Brendan Rodgers hails Liverpool's "mental fitness"

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that his team's "mental fitness" has improved this season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that his players have worked on their "mental fitness" this season.

The Reds have been tested at times during the course of the campaign, which currently leaves the club fourth in the Premier League table.

The Merseyside outfit relinquished a two-goal lead against Stoke City before having to come back from a two-goal deficit to draw against Aston Villa last Saturday.

"As we've been able to work more, this season has been very important because we've been able to do a lot of work on the training field, and a lot more work behind the scenes on that mental fitness, which is important for any team," Rodgers told the club's official website.

"I think you've seen the benefits of that in the confidence and belief of the players, especially if we're ever down in games or in difficult moments. We've definitely improved in that aspect."

Liverpool will switch their attention to the FA Cup this weekend when they take on Bournemouth in the fourth round.
