Brendan Rodgers: 'My players were magnificent'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers labels his players "magnificent" following their 3-1 comeback victory away at Leicester City in the Premier League.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has labelled his players "magnificent" after they came from a goal down to beat Leicester City 3-1 away from home in the Premier League this evening.

A tough spell for the Reds looked to be worsening early on when goalkeeper Simon Mignolet put into his own net, but goals from Adam Lallana, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson were enough to earn the Anfield club a win at the King Power Stadium.

"It was a great victory, players were magnificent. We had to work very hard but our quality came through in the end," said Rodgers, according to BBC Sport.

"We should have won in Europe. Three good performances. I have big trust in the players. We needed to pick up the standard again.

"Steven Gerrard was rested at weekend with tonight in mind. When you rest a player people ask why. When you play them you are asked why aren't you resting them. The energy from being rested at the weekend gave him the energy to play tonight."

Liverpool currently occupy eighth spot in the Premier League table.
