Brendan Rodgers: 'We deserved to win'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers feels that his side deserved more from their 1-1 draw with Everton at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his side deserved more than a point as they drew 1-1 with local rivals Everton at Anfield on Saturday.

Toffees captain Phil Jagielka struck a stunning stoppage-time equaliser to cancel out Steven Gerrard's free kick, and Rodgers felt that his charges were the better side throughout.

He told reporters after the game: "We didn't get what we deserved today, we took the lead and should have two more.

"It is disappointing but the performance was much better. I was screaming for Steven to take the free kick because he has so much quality. It is a game that we should have won."

The result leaves the Reds 12th in the Premier League.
