Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: 'We'll get over defeat to Aston Villa'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that his players will get over Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa by focusing on Tuesday night's Champions League return.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that his players will quickly "get over" the disappointment of losing to Aston Villa.

The Reds lost their second Premier League game of the season in a 1-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday.

Now, the Merseyside outfit turn their attention to their first game back in the Champions League for five years when they take on Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on home turf tomorrow.

"This is a group that has shown over the time that I've been here that we have to get over disappointment and move to the next game," Rodgers told the club's official website. "We have to move on. Our focus now goes straight to Tuesday night.

"It will be a wonderful occasion for us to be back in Champions League football and hopefully getting over [the Villa defeat] by getting a win in the first group game."

Rodgers confirmed at the weekend that Raheem Sterling will play at Anfield on Tuesday night after being left on the bench against Villa on Saturday.
