Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers: 'We'll stay positive in Premier League title race'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that his players' positive attitude will not slip following their defeat to title rivals Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that his players will keep their heads up after slipping up in the Premier League title race.

The Merseyside outfit's lead at the top of the table has dropped from five points to two following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

The result now switches matters into Manchester City's hands, who have a game in hand on Liverpool and can win the title on goal difference, even if the Reds grab maximum points from their final two matches.

"City will now feel they can go on and win their games," Rodgers told reporters. "We'll focus on the next game and continue with that positive mentality that we've had throughout the season, because that's the reason why we are where we are."

Liverpool will take on Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in their final fixtures, while City will play Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Chelsea are also in the mix for the title, sitting just two points adrift of Liverpool having played the same amount of games.
