Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has said that the Premier League title is in his team's hands following their 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Citizens moved to within three points of league leaders Liverpool after Brendan Rodgers's men fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Chelsea earlier in the afternoon.
The results mean that City are the favourites to win the title due to their superior goal difference over the Reds and Kompany is delighted that their destiny is back in their control.
"It is difficult to predict the outcome of this league," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "You would be crazy to think it is over, but obviously we did our job. It's in our own hands and you can't do more than that.
"There have been so many swaps and changes over the season, we are still very calm. By definition, I think we are the team in the league that can't ever give up - especially after the year we won it.
"We just kept our heads down. We knew we didn't play to well and had to change it - the last two games have been good. Ultimately it's about the last straight and we seem to pick it up at the right time."
Man City face Everton away next Saturday, before ending the season with home matches against Aston Villa and West Ham United.
