Raheem Sterling could face "weeks" on sidelines with thigh injury

Brendan Rodgers reveals that youngster Raheem Sterling could be out of action for a "few weeks" with a thigh complaint.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that winger Raheem Sterling could be out of action for a "few weeks" with a thigh injury.

The 18-year-old has drifted in and out of the side in recent weeks following a blistering start to his senior career at the beginning of the season.

While the teen has been tipped for a bright future, for now, Sterling could be unavailable for this Sunday's clash against West Ham United.

"Young Raheem Sterling is probably our only question mark," Rodgers said in a press conference. "He's had an ongoing issue with his thigh, so we're just assessing that and whether he needs to come out for a few weeks to protect that."

The Reds are currently seventh in the Premier League table, five points away from a spot in the Europa League.
