Raheem Sterling wants more playing time at Liverpool

Raheem Sterling admits that he has not played as much as he would like for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has admitted that he wants more first-team action at Anfield, but understands that he needs to wait for his chance.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene last season, but has made just two starts in the 2013-14 campaign under manager Brendan Rodgers.

"The manager has said to all of us not in the team at the moment that we've got to be on our toes," Sterling told the Liverpool Echo. "When the chance comes you have to make sure you take it.

"Obviously I've not played as much as I would have liked so far this season but as long as the team is winning and doing well, I'm happy."

The Reds are currently third in the Premier League table after 10 games.
