Liverpool will go into Saturday's meeting with Norwich sitting 55 points ahead of their opponents and having picked up as many points in 2020 as Norwich have all season.

Bottom will face top in the Premier League this weekend when Norwich City host champions-elect Liverpool at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side have swept almost all before them so far this season, racking up 24 wins and one draw from their 25 outings to set a pace never before seen in the top five leagues of European football.

The Merseysiders' 22-point lead over Manchester City is already the biggest margin any table-topper has enjoyed at any stage in the Premier League era, and they could extend that to 25 for a few days at least with victory this weekend.

Anything other than a Liverpool win would be a major shock considering Norwich prop up the rest of the table and find themselves seven points adrift of safety with 13 games of the season remaining.

The gulf between the two sides facing off at Carrow Road is a whopping 55 points, and it will be only the 13th time in Premier League history that a team goes into a game so far behind their opponents.

Never has that occurred as early as February either, but perhaps the most telling statistic regarding the two sides' chances is that Liverpool have won as many points already in 2020 as Norwich have won all season - 18.

Klopp's side have won all six of their league games since the turn of the year - extending their relentless winning streak to 16 matches - whereas Norwich have only won four games throughout 2019-20 so far.

Liverpool could also equal another Premier League record by scoring the opening goal against a particular opponent for the 14th successive meeting - something only Chelsea have managed against Portsmouth in the competition's history.
