Sports Mole looks at how title-chasing Liverpool could line up for Sunday's Premier League trip to face Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

Liverpool are still awaiting confirmation of the COVID status of three first-team players ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones were all ruled out of Thursday's 3-1 win over Newcastle United after returning "suspected positive tests", although Jurgen Klopp said in his pre-match press conference that their absence is "not confirmed yet".

The trio are expected to miss out again, although as of yet there have been no further coronavirus scares amongst the Liverpool squad.

Klopp must decide whether to rotate players given the quick turnaround in fixtures, but next week's EFL Cup clash with Leicester City may be seen as a better opportunity to do that.

The likes of Naby Keita, James Milner and Roberto Firmino may be forced to settle for a place on the bench again, then, despite the latter having scored five goals - including three winners - in his last six games against Spurs.

Diogo Jota's own goalscoring form could be enough to keep him in the starting XI for this one, though, with the Portuguese forward hitting his ninth of the season against Newcastle.

Only 15-goal Mohamed Salah has more than that in the league so far, and the prolific winger could break yet another record this weekend as he attempts to become the first player in Premier League history to either score or assist in 16 consecutive matches.

Divock Origi will be assessed ahead of kickoff but is expected to miss out with a knee injury, while Nat Phillips, Harvey Elliott and Adrian also remain sidelined for Klopp's men.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane
