Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has no new injury concerns heading into Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton, but he is still contending with a lengthy list of absentees.

Defenders Virgil Van Dijk (knee), Joe Gomez (knee) and Joel Matip (ankle) remain on the treatment table, while captain Jordan Henderson (groin) and Divock Origi (muscle) are still a few weeks away from a full recovery.

Nat Phillips had missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem but was named in the starting lineup for the postponed fixture against Manchester United last weekend; the 24-year-old centre-back is expected to be fit and should be in contention to start alongside Ozan Kabak.

This will likely see Fabinho move further forward into a more natural midfield role, and the Brazilian could be joined in the middle of the pitch by Georginio Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcantara, who both started against the Saints earlier this year.

Klopp started all four of his main attacking options in the draw against Newcastle United a fortnight ago and may be tempted to name Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota in his first XI once again, although the latter is the most likely to begin on the bench.

Salah started on the bench in the draw against Leeds United last month but he is set to start this weekend; the Egyptian has scored seven goals in seven Premier League appearances against the Saints, including five times in three games against them at Anfield.

Former Southampton midfielder Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, who has struggled to cement a regular place in Klopp's starting lineup, has started just twice in the top-flight this campaign, including once against the Saints in January, and the 27-year-old is more likely to have an impact from the bench if he is to feature this weekend.

Liverpool possible starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
