Daniel Agger hints at Liverpool exit, admits "future is complicated"

Daniel Agger admits that his Liverpool future is "complicated" amid reports that he will leave the club in the near future.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has admitted that his future at the club is yet to be resolved.

A number of reports over the summer have suggested that Liverpool's vice-captain will move on from Anfield before the transfer window closes on Monday following the arrival of Dejan Lovren on Merseyside.

Despite not going as far as admitting that he is on his way out of the Reds, the 29-year-old has said that his "future is complicated" and has admitted his "frustration" at a lack of playing time in recent months.

"The future is complicated," Agger is quoted as telling Jyllands-Posten by the Liverpool Echo. "There are a few things that has to be sorted and we have to take it from there. I actually don't know what will happen. It is a bit up to Liverpool.

"I have had niggling injuries at the wrong times and I have to say that it is difficult to change the team when it is winning. I am not frustrated by that. I am frustrated the way it happened and the way it was handled."

The Danish international also said that reports suggesting that he had asked to leave the club during their tour of America in the summer were wide of the mark.

"There was nothing true in that story whatsoever," he said. "I went home from the US because I had problems with my knee and had had so for some time.

"Brendan Rodgers and I talk with honesty to each other but the last thing I will ever do is stand and whine in front of someone. Especially when it comes to football, because in football there is nothing to whine about."

Agger arrived at Liverpool from Brondby in the summer of 2006 for £6m and has since made 175 appearances for the Anfield side.
