Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says that Barcelona could have enough appeal to prise the centre-back away from Anfield this summer.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has admitted that it would be "difficult" to stay at Anfield if Barcelona came calling.

The Denmark international has been at the centre of transfer speculation following reported interest from Manchester City.

While the 27-year-old has been open about his desire to stay with the Merseyside club, there have been reports that the Reds are open to selling the centre-back.

"There is one club who would make it very difficult for me to stay at Anfield," the Daily Mail quotes Agger as saying. "Barcelona would be great, because they are the best in the world.

"But I am feeling great where I am. I'm with a special club, and I feel I am influencing what happens on the pitch. I am happy to be a Liverpool player."

Agger has just one year remaining on his current Liverpool contract.
