Daniel Agger says that his Liverpool future might be decided by the club's owner by insists he wants to win trophies with the Reds.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has insisted that it will be the club's owners who decide whether or not he will stay at Liverpool.

The Danish centre-back is wanted by Premier League champions Manchester City and has also been linked with Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old has stated his desire to remain at Anfield but after holding talks with manager Brendan Rodgers now feels that the club's owners may be the ones to decide his fate.

"No, absolutely not," Agger told Sporten.dk, when asked if Rodgers wants to sell him. "But I do not think it is his call to make. I guess the owners are the ones to make that call, just like it is in any other company.

"It is fine with me. This is about the ability to adapt and that is something I am very good at. I do not need to know everything that is going on around me.

"Everything in football is about winning, and that is also the case for me and for a lot of other people outside of football. Trophies are important and I would not have stayed at Liverpool if I did not think that Liverpool are capable of winning things."

Agger has been at Liverpool since 2006.
