The 33-year-old is not expected to be part of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers's plans for next season, and he will therefore become the Welsh club's marquee signing this summer, according to The Mirror.
The Welshman scored 11 goals in 35 games for Cardiff during the 2010-11 season in the Championship.
Bellamy is currently in action with Team GB ahead of the Olympics.
