Bayer Leverkusen have announced that winger Julian Brandt has penned a new contract.
Brandt is regarded as one of the top prospects in German football and the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich have been frequently linked with the 21-year-old.
Both clubs were in the running to sign Brandt during the summer with the midfielder having just over 12 months remaining on his existing deal, but their plans could now change.
Brandt has opted to sign fresh terms with Leverkusen which keep him tied to the club until at least 2021, ending concerns at the Bundesliga outfit that the player could leave on the cheap.
Since 2014, Brandt has scored a total of 29 goals in 160 appearances in all competitions.
