Everton are reportedly leading the race to sign Norwich City midfielder James Maddison during the summer transfer window.

Everton have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.

After establishing himself as a key man for the Canaries, Maddison has been heavily linked with a move to one of the top clubs in the Premier League with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City all said to hold an interest.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Everton are expected to make a move for the 21-year-old before the start of next season.

New Toffees boss Marco Silva is said to be an admirer of the playmaker, with Norwich potentially willing to accept any bids between £20m and £25m.

This season, Maddison - who is not expected to recover from a knee ligament injury until July - contributed 14 goals and eight assists from 44 appearances in the Championship.

Maddison still has three years remaining on his contract, but Norwich may welcome the opportunity to improve their standing with FFP.
