Dietmar Hamann: 'Christian Benteke will score 20 goals for Liverpool'

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that Aston Villa frontman Christian Benteke would be an ideal signing for the Merseysiders.

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has suggested that Christian Benteke would be an ideal signing for the Reds.

The Belgian striker has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield from Aston Villa this summer, and it has been reported that the Merseysiders will trigger a £32.5m clause in his contract.

"Christian Benteke is tailor-made for Liverpool," Hamann told talkSPORT.

"He will score 20-plus goals a season in the Premier League for Liverpool with the service he'll get from Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firminho."

Benteke has scored 42 goals in 89 Premier League appearances since joining Villa from Genk in 2012.
