Jurgen Klopp 'allowed' to go after Borussia Dortmund players in transfer window

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says that there would be no problem with Jurgen Klopp should the Liverpool manager try to sign one of their players

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed that there is no agreement in place to stop Jurgen Klopp from poaching any of their players in the transfer window.

A few days after Klopp, who spent seven years in charge of the Bundesliga side, was appointed Liverpool manager in October, Watzke claimed that the German would not go after his former players.

However, the Dortmund CEO has now claimed that the club's relationship with Klopp would not be affected should he get in contact about possibly signing a member of the squad.

"One thing is clear, we at BVB have a very good relationship with Jurgen," Watzke told Die Welt. "I think there would be no conflict were there to be interest in one of our players at some point. He would contact us before [he contacts the player]."

Since moving to Anfield, Klopp has been linked with moves for Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan.
