Liverpool could reportedly battle Manchester City for the signature of Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema during next summer's transfer window.
The 33-year-old has been in excellent form for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 17 times and registering eight assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.
Benzema's contract is due to expire in June 2023, though, and Real Madrid are allegedly planning to move for both Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland next summer.
A recent report claimed that the France international was open to moving to the Premier League amid suggestions of interest from Man City.
According to El Nacional, Liverpool are also in the mix for the striker, with the Reds looking to sign a replacement for Roberto Firmino during next summer's transfer window.
The report claims that PSG are also showing an interest, with the French champions preparing for the departure of Mbappe, with the attacker potentially joining Real Madrid.
Benzema has scored 296 goals and registered 152 assists in 578 appearances for Los Blancos since arriving from Lyon in July 2009.
