Liverpool 'have £60m to spend in summer transfer window'

Liverpool could reportedly have £60m to spend on players in the transfer window this summer.

Liverpool will reportedly have around £60m to spend on player acquisitions this summer as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.

The Merseyside outfit, who are three wins away from lifting their first league title since 1990, are guaranteed a spot in Europe following Sunday's 3-2 win over Norwich City.

According to the London Evening Standard, Liverpool's owners will hand over £40m to manager Brendan Rodgers for the summer market, but sales of players could increase the budget to £60m.

Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre believes that the security of Champions League football will attract quality players.

The Reds currently have a five-point lead over Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table with three games left to play.
