Liverpool, Newcastle United 'keen on Gent winger Moses Simon'

A report claims that Gent ace Moses Simon is wanted by both Liverpool and Newcastle United, while Brighton & Hove Albion have also been monitoring the Nigerian winger.

Liverpool have been joined by Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the race to sign Moses Simon from Gent, according to a report.

The Nigerian winger is said to have impressed Toon boss Rafael Benitez with his display against Serbia in London last week.

Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws suggests that Benitez is already preparing for life in the top flight next term and is ready to push ahead with an offer for the 22-year-old.

Simon, who also impressed scouts during Gent's win at Anderlecht at the weekend, is understood to be rated at £13m, although that valuation could increase as Liverpool have since made their interest known.

The same report indicates that it could even be a three-way battle for Simon, as Brighton & Hove Albion have been monitoring the winger of late.
