Liverpool are reportedly planning a January move for Red Bull Salzburg forward Noah Okafor.
The 22-year-old has scored seven goals in the Austrian Bundesliga and three in six Champions League matches this season, including strikes against Chelsea and AC Milan.
Sky Germany reports that a winter transfer is a possibility with Jurgen Klopp's side facing competition from Manchester City and Milan for the signature of the Swiss attacker.
The report states that a fee of £35m-40m could be enough to persuade the Austrian club to sell one of their brightest talents.
Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund refused to rule out a sale, speaking to Sky Austria.
"Okafor really took off last year. I hope he plays a good World Cup, then the stock of Noah Okafor can become very interesting. I don't rule it out," he told reporters.
The Reds, City and Milan join Arsenal and Leeds in holding an interest in signing Okafor.
