Liverpool preparing £16m Mauro Icardi bid?

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is reportedly being eyed up by Liverpool to replace Luis Suarez, although the Italian club are said to want around £28m for the player.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a £16m bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.

The Anfield outfit are said to be in the market for a new striker after the departure of top scorer Luis Suarez earlier this summer, and see Icardi as an ideal replacement.

Inter Milan want £28m for the in-demand 21-year-old, however, and the Reds will need to increase the proposed offer before any talks can begin, according to The Express.

A report earlier today claimed that Liverpool were hoping to land striker Radamel Falcao from Monaco, but the Ligue 1 club's sporting director Vadim Vasilyev later denied that any talks were ongoing.
