Liverpool 'leading race to sign Radamel Falcao'

Liverpool are confident of landing Monaco striker Radamel Falcao this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly leading the chase to sign Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.

The 28-year-old Colombia international, who missed this summer's World Cup through injury, has been linked with a move away from the French club this summer as they look to balance out their spending.

Manchester City were said to be keen on landing Falcao, although it is believed that Liverpool are confident of landing the marksman ahead of their Premier League rivals.

Italian journalist Mina Rzouki took to Twitter to say: "It's not yet done. Falcao is between Liverpool and City but the former quite a bit in the lead to land the player. What a coup it would be."

Falcao enjoyed goal-laden spells at Porto and Atletico Madrid, before moving to Monaco last summer.
