Liverpool poised to reject Manchester City offer for Raheem Sterling?

Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to part with Raheem Sterling this summer despite reports that the midfielder is unsettled.

Manchester City are reportedly plotting to table a £40m offer for Liverpool midfielder Raheem Sterling.

The Sky Blues are preparing to place a firm bid for the unsettled England international, but the Reds will reject the offer, according to The Mirror.

Liverpool are said to be planning crunch talks with contract rebel Sterling in a bid to offer the 20-year-old an olive branch and tie him to the club long term.

The outfit's American owners will reportedly tell the youngster that they are not willing to part with him this summer and detail their plans to build a world-class team around him.

However, City are allegedly ready to offer the player £150,000 per week if they can convince Liverpool to sell up.

Sterling was booed during the Reds' end-of-season awards ceremony while collecting his Young Player of the Year prize, and is said to blame the club's hierarchy for his negative portrayal in the media.

Liverpool allegedly value Sterling at £50m and will not entertain bids of any less.
