Liverpool will reportedly keep a close eye on Porto duo Otavio and Fabio Vieira when the two sides lock horns in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to recruit an attack-minded midfielder and a forward to bolster his squad following the departures of Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds had previously been in 'advanced talks' to sign Otavio for around a £34m deal, however that move failed to materialise.
Vieira, meanwhile, is another player who is being closely monitored by Liverpool scouts and they are set to watch both players perform for the Portuguese outfit at the Estadio do Dragao.
Otavio, who can play as a central midfielder or on the flanks, is currently under contract until the summer of 2025, so Porto are under no pressure to sell one of their star players.
As for Vieira – an attacking midfielder – he has less than 12 months remaining on his contract and will be able to leave the club for free next summer if a new deal cannot be agreed in the coming months.
