Liverpool are reportedly planning to make an attempt to sign Shanghai Shenhua striker Didier Drogba on a short-term deal.
According to The People, Brendan Rodgers will make a move when the Chinese season ends next week.
Shenhua are apparently willing to cancel the 34-year-old's contract on the basis that he can return to China, should a move to Liverpool prove unsuccessful.
If the move does work out however, Drogba will have the chance to sign a longer-term deal at Anfield.
Liverpool's lack of goals has been cited as a problem this season and they have been linked with moves for Gary Hooper and Tomer Hemed in recent weeks.
Drogba scored the equalising goal for Chelsea in last season's Champions League final, as well as the deciding penalty.
