Liverpool have reportedly "tabled an offer" for the services of former defender Javier Mascherano, seven years after he left the club for Barcelona.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at Camp Nou in 2019 but has been tipped to move on to pastures new as soon as next summer, with the player himself recently admitting that he is "analysing" his situation.
According to a report in Diario Gol, the Argentine already has three offers on the table, including one from the Reds, where he made almost 100 Premier League appearances between 2007 and 2010.
The publication claims that Mascherano's teammate Lionel Messi "is convinced that he's already made his mind up to go" and that he will seek a move out next summer, with Barca reportedly prepared to let him leave on a free in order to cut out his healthy wages.
Liverpool are allegedly joined in their pursuit of Mascherano by big-spending Paris Saint-Germain and Serie A champions Juventus.
