Newcastle United reportedly want Andy Carroll back at the club for a cut-down price of £10m.

Newcastle United are interested in taking Andy Carroll back to the club for a cut-down price of £10m, according to a report.

The Liverpool striker is currently on loan at West Ham United and is the club's joint top scorer with six strikes this season.

Despite Carroll's good form, Hammers manager Sam Allardyce claimed that the club may have difficulty making the deal permanent, and the forward's former side are showing an interest, according to The Mirror.

Liverpool paid Newcastle £35m for the England international back in January 2011, and the Magpies' manager Alan Pardew is looking to bring the Geordie back to his boyhood club for a knock-down fee.

However, a stumbling block could be Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who recently insisted that Carroll would not be sold on the cheap.
