Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has reportedly warned Liverpool to drop their pursuit of winger Hatem Ben Arfa.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Frenchman for several months, with some reports claiming that manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to offer striker Andy Carroll as part of a swap deal.
However, according to The Mirror, Pardew has told the five-time European Champions that they are wasting their time with their interest in the former Marseille man and to turn their attentions towards another player.
Ben Arfa recently said that he wanted to stay on Tyneside and saw no reason to move.
