Paris Saint-Germain president "very confident" over Neymar, Kylian Mbappe deals

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is "very confident" that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will both pen new deals.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is "very confident" that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will both sign new contracts with the French champions.

Neymar netted three times in PSG's 5-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday night, while Mbappe scored a brace against the Turkish side.

Both players have been linked with moves away from the French capital in recent months, but Al-Khelaifi has insisted that the duo want to remain with last season's Champions League finalists.

"We have begun to talk with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the discussions will remain confidential but I am very confident," Al-Khelaifi told RMC Sport. "They both want to stay with us at PSG."

Neymar, who has scored nine times and registered five assists in 11 appearances at club level this term, only has 18 months left to run on his existing deal in Paris.

Meanwhile, Mbappe, who is thought to be a long-term target for Liverpool and Real Madrid, also has a contract with Thomas Tuchel's side until June 2022.

The 21-year-old's brace against Istanbul means that he has now managed 12 goals and eight assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season.
