Report: Luciano Vietto still on Liverpool radar

Liverpool will push ahead with a move for Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool are still reportedly keen to land Luciano Vietto from Villarreal this summer, despite the striker's revelations that he wants to play for Barcelona.

The 21-year-old has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for the Spanish club this season, which has led to much speculation regarding his future.

It had previously been suggested that Brendan Rodgers was confident of signing the Argentine youngster, although Vietto admitted this week that he "dreams" of playing alongside Lionel Messi at Camp Nou.

Despite this, The Metro claims that Liverpool will still attempt to push through a deal this summer in order to pounce while Barcelona are under a transfer ban.

Vietto has yet to be capped by Argentina at senior level, although he has represented the Under-20s on four previous occasions.
