Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that his club have made an enquiry to Fulham regarding the availability of Clint Dempsey.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the American international over the past few days, with some reports this morning claiming that a bid had been accepted by Fulham.
However, the Whites soon released a statement saying that had not received any offers for the midfielder, nor would they welcome any.
Speaking about the ongoing situation, Rodgers confessed that there is interest on his part.
"Clint is a player we've enquired about, it is as simple as that," Rodgers told reporters.
"Ian Ayre, our managing director, has spoken with the club to see what the position is. That is where we're at.
"He's a very talented player but we don't like to talk about other clubs' players."
Fulham have reportedly offered the 29-year-old a new contract.
