West Ham United to pay Liverpool £1m for Andy Carroll?

West Ham United will reportedly have to pay Liverpool £1m under the terms of Andy Carroll's loan deal if they stay in the Premier League.

West Ham United will reportedly have to pay Liverpool £1m if they remain in the Premier League this season, under the terms of Andy Carroll's loan deal.

The Hammers will have to make the payment to the Reds as part of the agreement of Carroll's deal with the club, according to The Mirror.

Carroll joined the London outfit last August with the clause inserted into the deal and with Sam Allardyce's side currently sitting 12th in the Premier League, it looks likely that it will be triggered.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers recently stated that the England international will not leave at a knock-down price if he is sold in the summer.

The former Newcastle United man has scored five goals this season, including a brace in last week's 3-1 home win against West Bromwich Albion.

West Ham travel to Anfield today, with Carroll ineligible for the game.
