Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Liverpool forward Divock Origi, who could be allowed to leave Anfield in January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Liverpool forward Divock Origi as a potential January signing.

Nuno Espirito Santo's team have enjoyed a fine start to life back in the Premier League with 15 points being recorded from 10 matches, but the West Midlands outfit have only netted nine goals.

Wolves' return in the final third will likely lead to attacking additions being made at the midway point of the campaign, and according to the Express & Star, an approach could be made for Origi.

There was allegedly interest in the summer - with some reports claiming that Wolves were put off by Liverpool's valuation and others suggesting that Origi did not want to move to a newly-promoted club - but Wolves' recent performances and Origi's lack of game time may have changed the situation.

Origi has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Merseyside giants, and the Belgium international is yet to make a single outing for the first team this season.

Liverpool are said to rate the 23-year-old in the region of £20m, but it is unclear whether Wolves would be prepared to shell out such a figure for a player lacking match fitness.

Newcastle United and clubs in Turkey have previously been linked with a move for the player.
